ShouldExist : Good ideas, free for all!.is similar to Global Idea Bank which I have posted about earlier (and which has been on the Internet for a decade).
This site however is a bit narrower in its focus. What the site consists of are a collection of things that "should exist" but at of the time of their submission, do not exist. These things are mainly inventions of various sorts waiting to be invented. Here is how the site describes itself:
ShouldExist is a tool. It subscribes to no belief systems or political agendas. As a tool, it seeks only to perform a function and perform it well: … good ideas should be easy to come by. There are plenty to go around. The difficult part is actually implementing. If you’re an implementor looking for what next to do, ShouldExist is a good place to look. If you’re full of good ideas but aren’t doing anything with them, post them here!
ShouldExist seeks to find answers to the good questions. What’s wrong with our world? How can we make it better? Who would know best how to do this? Who is working on something similar? What do they have to say? What next? … ShouldExist.org is a non-profit website, founded on the belief that individuals are more successful when we work together through open standards, modularity and decentralized control. Things are better when we cooperate and share.
If you have an idea you think should exist, you can post it here.
