When I was younger, I thought the humans were pretty impressive creatures and capable of knowing a lot of things. I devoured book, studied philosophy and had learned discussions.
As I gained experience, i began to realize how little we really do know. Even more than how little we know, how silly and pretentious we are as a species. Lately I’ve been given to reciting a rap about how were really just a bunch of smart (or at least we think we’re smart) monkeys.
So a friend who has heard this rap more than once sent me this Quicktime presentation Dancing Monkeys by Ernest Kline does a good job of communicating some of my perhaps imperfectly articulated thoughts about how we might be seen my more intelligent creatures somewhere down the line of evolution or perhaps in some other part of the universe might see us.
