Peter Max on lines and colors art blog.
lines and colors a blog about drawing, painting, illustration, comics, webcomics, cartoons, concept art and other visual arts
Until today, when you think of the name Charlie Parker, you probably think of the great jazz musician Charlie Parker.
Intruding Charlie Parker, the webcomics artist, cartoonist, illustrator, web site designer Flash animator and art blogger.
I found his blog through this post about Peter Max, the noted Psychedelic Sixties artist who the Beatles may have had stuck in their mind when they made Yellow Submarine. Here is an excerpt from the post about Peter Max:
Peter Max rose to fame at a pop artist and poster artist associated with the mass media image of the 1960’s psychedelic art movement.
Max took his influences from the underground psychedelic concert posters and album art of the time, and the graphically simplified echoes of that art pioneered by Heinz Edelmann and Milton Glaser, and refined them into a cheerful, less threatening version that became wildly popular.
Charlie Parker's blog features rich posts on a variety of topics. Here is what he says about the blog:
lines and colors is a blog about drawing, sketching, painting,
comics, cartoons, webcomics, illustration, digital art, concept art,
gallery art, artist tools and techniques, motion graphics, animation,
sci-fi and fantasy illustration, paleo art, storyboards, matte
painting, 3d graphics and anything else I find visually interesting. If
it has lines and/or colors, it's fair game.
He also has a great portrait of himself on the blog which also seems to have a psychedelic influence.
