Celebrating the 69th Annual Bicycle Day

Sixty-nine years ago, on April 19th, 1943, the late Swiss biochemist Dr. Albert Hofmann took the first planned LSD session. This day has been celebrated by members of the psychedelic culture since the Sixties. In 1983, Dr. Thomas Roberts began calling the day, Bicycle Day and it has been celebrated with increasing enthusiasm ever since. In San Fransisco, the city probably best associated with the sixties counterculture, Bicycle Day is being celebrated by Alex Grey and his Chapel of the Sacred Mirrors crew with a special event which looks like it will be a lot of fun. I just finished watching a documentary called Know Your Mushrooms which I recorded from a showing yesterday on the Sundance Channel. The documentary was made by director Ron Mann who is best known for his film Comic Book Confidential.
