MAPS 25th Anniversary Conference Report

I attended the MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) Cartographie Psychedelica: Celebrating 25 Years of Research & Education. That bit of a tongue twister is short for the MAPS 25th Anniversary Conference. See the MAPS website for detailed information about the organization. Memes for the Making of a New Culture — A Work in Progress Part 1

In my post in November about my mother’s passing Remembering My Mother, I related about how a dream at age four provided as way of thinking about those early years of my life, the ones that hardly anyone remembers anything about.

I am going to be 62 in February and so I have gone through a lot of my life, much of which seemed like endless mid-life crises and reached maturity. In terms of The 12 Stages of Life by Bruce Carnahan, I have arrived at Stage 9 called which he calls Reflection.

Under the Influence — YouTube Exerpt from Forthcoming Documentary About Drugs

Back in October 2007, I sat down for a wide ranging interview with a young filmmaker named Colby Dennis from Nobuddy Productions. He and his crew were in the process of interviewing for a documentary called "Under the Influence" which would  examine the drug war including its origin, effects and i implications on our culture.

Colby later ended the scope to a three part film with sections titled "Western Culture and the American Perception", "The Faux Freedom of Drug Policy and an third, Shamanism, Healing, and Alternative Implications.
