I’m writing from Saybrook Graduate School and Research Institute’s semi-annual Residential Conferece. The gathering is a requirement of matriculation through the school’s grduate programs. You are required to attend these events until you are advanced to candidacy for your PhD.
I’ve been stuck in the twilght zone with that regard. I’ve been working on the same essay, a literature review about studying writers for the past three years. I am on a third draf. Each of the previous two drafts were extensivly revised.
Tedious is a good way to describe the process of writing this literature review. A literature review has the most references of any type of psycology paper and this one is no exception. Revising the paper required returning to the original sources for many of the references.
Add to the tasks already mentioned, the difficulty of working with a variety of PDF formats, some of which contain no text, ust an image and the work becomes full of stops and starts.
